AFTERCARE

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

MICROBLADING/POWDERBROWS/SCAR & STRETCHMARK CAMOFLOUGE/AREOLA

The most important thing that goes into a successful permanent makeup procedure is how well the client follows the aftercare instructions. You'll want to make sure to keep the area moist with Aquaphor for at least 10 days. This prevents oxygen from hitting the procedure area and changing the color while it's setting in.

DO NOT WASH THE PROCEDURE AREA FOR 24-48 HOURS.

For the first 4 hours after the procedure, pat the procedure area with a paper towel every 30 minutes to remove excess blood/fluid.

Do not touch the procedure area with your fingers as they may have bacteria on them and create an infection.

For 10 days avoid: makeup, extreme sweating, swimming, tanning, hot sauna and laser/chemical/botox treatments.

Use a cotton swab to apply Aquaphor ointment throughout the day for 2-4 weeks. The area should never be dry.

We suggest Aquaphor because it does not cause inflammation. If you are allergic to Aquaphor, Vaseline will do just fine.

Wear a hat to shield the area from the sun when you go outside. Always use a “total sun block” sunscreen until the area has fully healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.

Do not use products that contain AHA’s on the procedure area, they will fade the color. (Example: Glycolic, Lactic Acids)

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIPS

For the 1st day ice your lips for every 30 minutes on the day of the procedure to prevent bruising and swelling.

For 2 days avoid hot foods and coat your lips with Aquaphor while brushing your teeth.

For 3 days avoid teeth whiteners, spicy foods/drinks, lemon, salt, and vinegar. Use a straw for any drinks that will stain such as coffee and wine.

ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR EYELINER

Ice your eyes every 30 minutes on the day of the procedure to prevent bruising and swelling.

For 2 weeks avoid eyelash tinting, perming, hair coloring or extensions.

Please understand that permanent makeup is a big decision and I urge you to investigate all the PROS and CONS of these procedures. Questions are always encouraged!

FIBROBLASTING

WHAT TO EXPECT

You will experience a mild burning sensation immediately following any Fibroblast Lift treatment procedure. This is similar to a sunburn which should resolve within a few hours. However, this depends upon your sensitivity tolerance and this discomfort may last longer. If you feel particularly uncomfortable, anti-inflammatories such as Advil or anti-histamines such as Benadryl are suggested. It is up to you to decide on self-medication.

As a natural healing response, it is usual for the treated area to become swollen, especially around the more delicate areas such as the eyes.

Ice packs not only soothe but also help reduce the swelling. Recovery can vary depending on your natural rate of recovery, most recover in a few days.

In extreme cases (specifically if clients do not follow aftercare guidelines) the swelling can last several days longer and may interfere with vision if the treatment was performed in the eye area.

Initially after treatment and up to 3 days later, there may be occasional weeping. This is the natural healing response to the Fibroblast Lift procedure.

FIBROBLAST HEALING

Wash your face with a mild cleanser like Cetaphil soap twice a day and apply healing ointment. Boiled lukewarm water or distilled water is best for cleaning the treated area. Dab with a clean, lint-free cloth to dry.

DO NOT use alcohol-based cleansers as this will slow down the healing process.

As the treated area begins to heal, you will notice the drying out process whereby brown/black scabs develop on the surface of the skin. These will flake off after a few days but in some cases can take up to 10 days.

It is important that these scabs are not removed. The flaking can cause itching. Do not scratch them for it can cause scarring if the scabs come off prematurely.

After the independent peeling of the scabs, pink/red skin forms. A slight redness may remain in the treated area for weeks or months. It usually takes 4-6 weeks until the skin has reached its normal color again.

It is strongly advised that you use sunscreen SPF 30-50 to avoid sunburn throughout the year including the colder months, as the area’s sensitivity to sunlight will be heightened for up to 3-4 months post Fibroblast Lift procedure.

If at any time the treated area(s) become too hot, red or show signs of pus, please contact us or your doctor for advice as you may be developing an infection.

Swimming and sauna are only permitted 3 weeks after the procedure and once all the scabs have fallen off the skin surface and are completely healed.

Smokers may experience a significant worsening of the blood flow, which increases the risk of wound healing and/or slowed healing. This procedure is not recommended for smokers.

Follow up treatment will be scheduled for 8 weeks from the initial procedure date.
